2 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup chopped onion
6 cups water
6 chicken bouillon cubes
8 ounces fine egg noodles
1 teaspoon salt
Two 10-ounce packages chopped broccoli
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
6 cups milk
1 pound processed cheese
pepper to taste
Saute onion in butter for 3 minutes. Add water and bouillon cubes. Heat to boiling until cubes are dissolved. Gradually add noodles and salt, cook till mixture boils - uncovered for 3 minutes. Stir in broccoli and garlic powder and cook for 4 minutes. Add milk, cheese, & pepper. Continue cooking till
cheese melts, stirring constantly. Serve hot. (Can be frozen and reheated in double boiler.)
2 c. Bisquick baking mix
2/3 c. milk
1/2c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1/4 c. margarine or butter, melted
1/4 t. garlic powder
Preheat Oven to 450,
Mix Bisquick, milk and cheese to make a soft dough. Beat vigorously for 30 seconds with a wooden spoon. Drop dough by tablespoonsful onto an ungreased sheet and bake 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Mix margarine and garlic and brush over the warm biscuits before removing from the sheet. Serve warm.(Serves 10-12)
6 large onions
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 tablespoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
Peel the onions (uder water if they make you cry!), and cut them in
half clockwise. Place onions in buttered baking dish. Melt the butter,
add the honey, lemon juice, salt, and pepper--and heat just until the
honey is liquified and ingredients are blended. Pour the sauce over the
onions, sprinkle with paprika, cover and bake at 350 degrees F for about 20 minutes. You want to make sure the onions are soft. These onions are great as an appetizer, or on buttered toast with sausages for a quick supper dish.
1 cup peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon flour
1 quart milk
1 tablespoon onion juice
Cream the peanut butter and add the flour, salt, pepper, and onion
juice. Scald (heat on top of the stove until bubbles gather around the
edges of the pan) the milk and add slowly to the peanut butter mixture,
stirring well. Reheat the soup but do not boil. Serve hot.
Seeds from one Halloween pumpkin
1 tsp. salt per 1 cup of seeds
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Carve the pumpkin. Scoop out the inside pulp the contains the seeds.
Put pulp in colander. Wash the pulp and stringy matter off seeds under
cold running water. Blot seeds dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
Spread seeds out on a cookie sheet. The seeds should be in a single
layer and should not touch each other. Sprinkle the seeds with a little
salt. Put tray in oven. After 12 mn, the seeds should be done. Let cool.
1 tbsp. chopped onion
2 tbsp. chopped sweet pickle or relish
2 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley, use half as much for dried
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
1/2 tsp. paprika
1 cup non-fat plain yogurt
1 lb vegetables raw or steamed, any combination--green beans, cauliflower
or broccoli florets, carrots.
Combine together onion, pickle, parsley, mustard, and paprika. Mix into yogurt. Put dip in small bowl in middle of large plate. Surround with veggies for dipping. Serve.

1 1/2 cups flour
2t minced garlic
2t paprika
1t salt
2t pepper
11/2 cups beer
4 Vidalia or Texas Sweet Onion
Flour Mix:
2 cups flour
4t paprika
2t garlic powder
1/2t pepper
1/2t cayenne pepper
(combine and mix well)
Creamy chili sauce:
2 cups mayo
1 pint sour cream
1/2 c chili sauce
1/2 t cayenne pepper
(combine and mix well)
Mix cornstarch, flour and seasonings until well blended. Add beer, mix
well. Cut about 3/4 inch off top of onion and peel. Cut into onion 12 - 16
vertical wedges but do not cut through bottom root end. Remove about 1 inch
of petals from center of onion. Separate the onion petals just slightly,
too much will destroy the onion. Dip onion in seasoned flour, remove excess
by shaking. Separate petals to thoroughly coat coat petals with batter. Dip
in batter. Dip in flour mixture again. Gently place in fryer basket ad deep
fry @ 375- 400 degree's for 11/2 minutes. Turn over, and fry and additional
11/2 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Place onion upright in shallow bowl
and remove center core with circular cutter or apple corer. Serve hot with
creamy chili sauce, or ranch sauce/ dressing.
